You are:

An experienced engineer with 2+ years of experience in developing large scale applications in Javascript. You’re experienced with web development and familiar with both frontend and backend (advantage for both).

You have great communication skills and the ability to deep dive into complex applications. You are also a creative fast learner who enjoys overcoming challenges in a complex environment. You’re highly motivated, curious, and searching for complex challenges.

You’re not afraid to re-evaluate each design decision and rewrite it if a better solution is presented.

Our application is not a regular web application. It’s the rendering engine for millions of different websites. Therefore this is not a classic frontend\backend\fullstack position, though you will touch every frontend (and backend) aspect needed to overcome our challenges.
As an Engineer at Viewer, you will:

Develop in Thunderbolt, the large-scale and complex application (written in Typescript), which is the rendering engine of Wix websites

Work with cutting-edge technologies

Develop features that are a part of the main focus of the Company

Experiment with new ideas, test them in production, and make data-driven decisions

Enable other companies in Wix to build their dream applications by developing the platform that all TPA/OOI/Platform apps run on

Improve Wix sites performance by researching and developing performance issues
We’re responsible for the rendering engine behind every site created with Wix editors. The viewer is a single application that supports rendering, both on server and client, on all platforms, with a special emphasis on performance.
We work on projects that affect the entire company, all Wix users and users of users.
We’re focused on performance, reliability, company-wide projects integration, velocity and product (always adding new features).
Our current projects include technological innovation in new products, winning the performance race against our competitors, new layout and expression capabilities, platform (Velo, Blocks, Apps), and other large-scale cross-company projects.
Our group has a very technical-oriented culture. We deep dive into issues and ideas, open everything into technical discussions and make sure do not miss any use case.
Our application covers almost every part of web development. Therefore developers in the group have huge growth potential - our growth is limited only by our curiosity.
Since we build a platform, Wix’s developers are also our clients. We enable other companies to move forward, so cross-companies projects are not rare here. We always talk to our fellow developers and make sure what we develop makes sense for them and help develop the best applications on top of the platform.
